Ancient Wise man

| Close up of a statue in the grounds of the Grand Palace in central Bangkok. The artworks seem to be a mix of ancient and more recent. Each one has a story behind it and this seems to be very much in the Chinese style. It is close to human size around 1.8 metres tall. |

Its lovely to see deep pastel greens and grays from you with much the same elan with which you handle the blues! Lovely composition
Hi Murray,
The vertical presentation is framing well the statue. The details and colors of the old man are clear and sharp. There is a good contrast between the colors of the statue and the colors of the vegetation. Have a nice day.

Hello Murray,
Old is the man absolutely, wise perhaps also, but his beard is long and the decoration on his breast are a lot of importance.
Composition and clarity are superb.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John.
Hello Murray
I like the colours of that statue. Its fits so well with the surrounding trees and plants. Excellent contrast with the background. Excellent details too. Cheers!
Best regards
Dneis!
Hello Murray,
Indeed, this statue is highly reminiscent of a couple of statues I saw at the Ming Tombs outside Shanghai, although the latter are considerably larger than human size. You've captured the contrasting light and dark areas very nicely, revealing the details of the carvings.
Warm regards and have a good weekend,
Bulent
Hi Murray,
I have taken a photo of this exact same statue. I remember, because it sort of reminded me of Davie Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean. The Grand Palace, although a bit over-the-top gaudy for me, had a lot of interesting subtleties worth a closer look, such as the emerald Buddha and the miniature scale Angkor Wat. I like the way the greens in this photo compliment the stance of the sculpture, without distracting.
