SÉRIE USHUAIA Nº 0010
(My Trip to Ushuaia - #0010)

NIEVE Y MAR - NEVE E MAR - SNOW AND SEA - This is the Bay of Ushuaia (a part of the Beagle's Canal). It was around 3 o'clock pm and the city had, by that time of the day, the strongest sun, but soon it would go away! It was cold! Not too much! I went walking around to take good pictures of the city, its harbor and mountain range in the background. Mount Oliva is the spearlike one in the left corner of the picture. I'll show some closer shots of it later on.

Once more, I'll insert some WS versions so you can compare slight different versions, either other povs or the same one, but with a bit different post-work.

Esplêndida imagem.As cores estão magníficas e despertam uma vontade imensa de também visitar o lugar. Para mim , desde criança, lendo sobre a Terra do Fogo em livros de História Geral, me parecia uma terra muito misteriosa. O mistério realmente existe, mas em forma de extrema beleza.

I read your reply to Miha as I was wondering about compression too. I now know the problem is to do with sharpening. The WS version doesn't have the same problem. When sharpening it is best to do it on a separate layer and then you can always reduce the opacity of the layer or erase parts that don't need much sharpening (like sky)
The scene is beautiful and the light on the snow and grasses lovely. The diagonal line of the shore works well to lead the eye into the image.

Hey Nevyan,

Beautiful stuff, color-wise, composition, POV and the general idea behind it, while the photo is also adorned by many different elements in the background.
But there seems to be some compression problem, or it might be just how I view it on my monitor, I realize that images tend to differ on different screens.

Beautiful scene with the wild vegetation, canal, mountains and snow. Boats are composed very well and the colours are also spot on. The WS is much sharper than this one so I don't know what's happened here, must have been the upload.

Qué suerte haber estado por ese lugar tan austral, aunque imagino que con bastante frío también a juzgar por la imagen. Estupenda toma con muy buena luz y colores.
