On a clear day Photo

Photographer’s Note

Hello everybody, I'm finally posting again :-)

Here you see one of the many lakes southeast of Berlin
near the beautiful town of Storkow. It is part of a natural reserve called 'Großschauener Seenkette' which, aswell as another region northwest of Berlin, is owned by the Heinz Sielman Trust.

On this late spring day, the ligth was just perfect and I got very intrigued by the wonderful reflections.
The atmosphere was so gorgeously quiet and meditative...

I used a polarisation filter to 'tame' the somewhat excessive glow of the clouds.

There is an old jazz standard which inspired me to give this picture its name:

On a clear day
Rise and look around you
And you'll see who you are.
On a clear day
How it will astound you
That the glow of your being outshines ev'ry star.

You'll feel part of ev'ry mountain sea and shore.
You can hear, from far and near,
A world you've never heard before.
And on a clear day...
On that clear day...
You can see forever and ever more!

Hello Rene,
the sky riflected in the water makes the compo beautiful to look at, with all the clouds giving a nice depth. I might have underexposed a little bit in order to get the blue a bit more saturated. Good job.

Hi Rene. Nice to have you back. Yes, it is a serene and contemplative vista. Lovely soft colours and light.It is good how nothing interferes with the sense of calm. Some photographers would have been tempted to throw a stone in the water in order to capture some movement in the foreground. Why would you? Regards. Klaudio.

Spero che ora tu ricominci a fotografare alla grande!
Anch'io ho comprato un filtro polarizzatore, è divertente vedere che effetti si possono ottenere.
