Photographer’s Note
To me, public art is a measure of the humane side of a city. It appeals to the non-commercial, emotional side of the population. It beautifies, entertains, amuses, and provokes thought.
It is therefore with great pleasure that I noticed the recent addition of a selection of fantastic ant sculptures at the entrance to the financial precinct of Dubai. I love them and think they’re great.
The works are on loan from American sculptor, Susan P Cochran, who comments “I don’t want people to be too darn serious.”
On the other hand, if you want to be serious, there is a more sublime message in the hard working, industrious nature of the ant and the lessons we as humans can take from that.
To me they’re just so much better to look at than a computer screen and I am happy to share them with you.

"It appeals to the non-commercial, emotional side of the population." if only there was more art in the streets of every city
amusing statues, just wondering what about framing from a lower POV

And thank you for sharing them with us!
It's funny that the sculptures of 2 fighting ants are displayed
at the entrance of the Dubai financial precinct. A reminder of human conduct?
Be well,

Hi JP, another wonder of yours? very good angle. i don't think Susan P Cochran did good job with these pieces, the reason is the color, its not real, she could've done it with real life colors of ants. Susan must contact you and thank you for making her are "acceptable" i like the sharpness and the POV here.
Sam.

Hi JP,
perfect capture of the ants. But I am also asking myself about the hidden message in placing just these animals in a town like Dubai!
Nevertheless thank you for sharing!
Best regards

Hi JP,
Good shot, we can see these sculptures in an excellent sharpness. The background also shows dual structures facing each other (buildings and decorative monuments) - kind of echoing art style?
I don't see any problem with the colours. Anyway, from yellow to black, passing by orange and real red, there are many kinds of ants, at least in Brazil. I hate them all ;-)
But the picture is beautiful ;-)
Congratulations,
MCV

Hi JP!
Are the sculptures new there? I've been there many times but I've never seen them. I like this pov, they're very good, seems they're fighting.I alsolike the new buildings in background.
