Belfast Castle II
The imposing structure of Belfast Castle towers over the city below. Situated on Cave Hill, the castle is closely linked with the history of Belfast City. Replacing the original built by the Normans in the 12th century, the present castle was completed in 1870 and is a fine example of Scottish baronial architecture.

Hi Stephen, perfect PoV and very good lights -- you captured both the natural and artifcial. right after sunset, best time to take such shots. glow around the castle and really strong colours can be a sign of overcontrasted or oversaturated picture. thanks for sharing ;)

Good light. The overall effect is really ominous - makes me feel anxious.

The Normans built te castle?! Wow, that's interesting to know!
Yes, a massive structure it is! And a good point of view with the diagonal on the floor in the foreground and the flowers here and there. Pleasant artificial light on the walls!

Perfect POV indeed, the flowers and the blazon are fully visible.
The light is a mystery here. The mixture of the natural and the artificial lights is great. I feel some dodge and burn tool - but I'm not sure.
I have a Lee set also but I don't know how should I use it in this situation. Would you be so kind to tell me how did you set the filter(s) for this shot?
Thanks in advance and congrats,

The light and the colors really are very well controlled on this composition. I like much the setting in scene of this photograph.

Really nice colours. As with many HDR images though, there's a bit of an unsightly halo. Here, it's around the castle. If you have Photoshop, it sometimes pays to make a couple of HDR photos with different settings, open them in Photoshop and use layers to blend them together and get rid of the nasty bits that HDR programmes leave behind.
Otherwise really beautiful though. Well done.
