This shot was taken abotu 20 minutes before the one here http://www.trekearth.com/viewphotos.php?l=3&p=916619

I had to cross this field in Coberley, Gloucestershire, to get to my scene but these cows insisted on following me. Every time I turned my back they woudl run at me so I had to turn round and face them to scare them off a bit. This is one of the times I turned round to face them. It wasn't really that intimidating, but I think this photo shows that it can be. I converted to black and white to enhance the mood. I have also posted a workshop in the original colour. I like this onebest - what do you prefer?

Thanks for looking

Hi Graeme,

Actually, I think I prefer the color version of this one. In the B&W version the cows seem to blend into one another a little too much for my tastes. I also think it would have improved things to have kept the foremost cow's feet in the frame if that would have been possible. Having the hooves cut off by the frame makes the balance really "lean" visually to that left side. Does that make sense?

Did they get your wallet?

Cheers!

Bob G.

Hi Graeme,
I think B&W works very well here, makes subjects all the more sinister! great depth to the shot and nice framing, TFS
