Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date . . . .
Shakespeare, Sonnet 18, 1–4
Two japanese honeymooners, I suppose, overlooking Budapest from the castle. But the wonderful panorama is not so important for them :)
You´ll find a the coloured version with a slightly different crop in the workshop.

It is a beautiful photo with the focal point on her smile and eyes. It conveys a lovely mood. The colour version is very too but I really prefer this one. Well done.
ocskaymarci (2690) 2008-07-05 7:04
Wonderful photo! I simply love the cropping. The soft sepia tones and the absolutely great focus give a special mood to it! Very good DOF and moment captured.
Have a nice weekend! Cheers,
RPoole5552 (1812) 2008-07-05 7:05
I like the sepia tones and your choice of angle here. It adds a certain mystique to the shot. Thanks for sharing.
Gustaw (21670) 2008-07-05 7:11
I like your photo. I like your nice and oryginal composition. I like your japanise love... Good idea, good moment for photography. Well done.
Traczewska (14) 2008-07-05 7:14
That is splendid! Such an unusual intimacy.. tender.. fragile.. sensitive glimpse.. Close.. indredibly close..
with all charm of the early love, unmature, crazy feeling.. longing to the other with such an impulsive necessity..
Is it the first portrait you have shown to us??
I would Say: BRAVO! :)
and.. don't stop.. :)
with regards, Agnieszka

Wunderbar, Christian, wahrlich meisterhaft. Barbara.
ninaL (21348) 2008-07-05 7:21
Very particular one...
Agnieszka has already said all I would say about this photography...
Beautiful, touching, sensual, unique...
Best regards. Grazyna.
kyzer (341) 2008-07-05 7:22

polpo56 (15136) 2008-07-05 7:24
Jeppo (17645) 2008-07-05 7:32
die schwarz-weisse version ist doch die beste!
so suess und gefuehlvoll!
mir gefaellt es!

RADEEH (2802) 2008-07-05 7:58
A delicate image with nice tones. The mood here is overwhelming.Beautiiful expressions ! Excellent focus and DoF. Great image. Congrats and TFS !
Wanda1 (15142) 2008-07-05 8:07
A lovely intimate portrait well suited to the sepia toning. I love it that they are on the edge of the frame and balanced out by that dark strip on the opposite side. Great use of depth of field too to convey this loving moment.
johannes68 (3469) 2008-07-05 8:43

albertz (2468) 2008-07-05 9:28
I like the drama in this shot, the color and expression of her face stimulate a very pleasing mood here. The colored is nice too but i have to say that i prefer this one. Excellent.
smarcell (19965) 2008-07-05 9:38
Bellissima.
jusninasirun (17162) 2008-07-05 9:51
Very good portrait Christian. I like the sofness of the image and yet so sharp and excellent detail. Fine framing and perfectly executed depth. Well done and best regards. Jusni
atus (15856) 2008-07-05 10:25
very well framed, great capture full of tenderness. I like the b/w version and the great blurred dof.
Complimenti e buona serata!

I love this portrait and the post processing you done here. The sharpness is perfect and your choise of close cropping is very beautifull
xavshot (69835) 2008-07-05 11:34
superbe photo.
mariandrea (979) 2008-07-05 12:25
Hi Christian, great portrait, the expression you captured says a lot... The choice of sepia adds to the scene, although the coloured one is not bad at all either. Well done! chau chau,
Wandering_Dan (3449) 2008-07-05 12:44
Hello, Christian -
Among the many fascinating things about this photo is that the monochromatic conversion makes them appear to be nudes, though of course they are not (and I checked the WS to make sure!). The blurred BG focuses our attention on the couple, particularly her face and facial expression. The abstraction in the shoulder shapes is also a very nice touch.
scalerman (26900) 2008-07-05 13:04
Chrisitian: compo and a beautiful model are the keys here. Simply perfect sepia work... regards, c

jjcordier (79297) 2008-07-05 22:08
Excellent, Christian!
goldyrs (136) 2008-07-05 23:31
WOW!This is an awesome shot, Christian!Simply superb!
Valerka (8171) 2008-07-05 23:56
Woww, Salut, Christian,
gpsony (448) 2008-07-06 0:12
Well seen and well shot. Prefer the sepia to the colour. Good use of the DOF. Great mood in the shot.

Tobias__Ortmann (2638) 2008-07-06 7:54
AyseGurel (574) 2008-07-06 12:19
this is really very romantic shot and I wish you put a romantic note as well instead of photo details:))
I like the B&W coice lot..
have a nice sunday
aadilj (18102) 2008-07-06 23:39

MikiM (1924) 2008-07-07 10:36
IT IS WONDERFUL.
It's like a poet. I like the coloured version too. It is so interesting how the BW version focuses better on the girl's face. No colors just sharpness and blur..
I'll try to do some similar in the future.
Have a nice week!
PLus I like the gentle framing. Please tell me your tevhnic.
Silvio1953 (143320) 2008-07-08 6:23

Did you dare to get so close?...no..you used your Bazooka...:-D.
This will be my favourite.A great framing,tenderness...nothing more to add...just beautiful.
Excellent work once again.
My kind regards
Cretense (68703) 2008-07-09 11:05
Quite diferent from your "style", but, hey, what a beautiful photo, my dear friend! Technically perfect, but it's not worth talking about technical issues in front of this lovely and romantic scene! Congratulations!
rushfan2112 (2965) 2008-07-10 2:42
Fabulous selective focus portrait and a really good B&W / sepia conversion. My only slight criticism is that it works better (for me) with a crop to portrait format or square to miss out the heavy dark shape on the left - which I find a bit of a distraction.
Lovely work, though. Regards,
archimatica (20632) 2008-07-10 9:07
Grande Magia! Voto 10 con la lode.
marcan44 (6307) 2008-07-10 14:31
bellissima foto, molto intensa.
goodwill (4226) 2008-07-10 14:43
Definitely the B&W holds the edge..........ha ha ha...highly intersting........an aura of mystery you have added by darkeing the left side of the shot.
Of course its sensual, but well crafted within the limits.
Three cheers for this
mikeo (12129) 2008-07-10 15:13
Great shot Chris...
Amazing, delicate, romantic...
I mostly prefere this version!
Has incredible climate...
paololg (31448) 2008-07-12 8:37
Ciao e buona domenica
ayansadhu (1502) 2008-07-14 9:14
this is really nice composition with the right blend of suspense in it
the sharpness etc. & the blur is in right balance

rajhema (1873) 2008-07-14 15:37
Ofcourse your picture tells a story. Very well captured and focusing on the women's face is sharp and the Monotone color is a right idea
sebinho342 (19317) 2008-07-14 16:36
Hi Christian, this is a fantastic picture, i love it ... so much humanity in it, grace and elegance, hats off

Superb dof and sharpness on required subject
bostankorkulugu (42430) 2008-07-15 3:45
such an intimate moment... i like her smile... her shy, fragile, innocent smile... showing how happy she is being embraced by his loved one... this is pure romance my friend... and art for sure...

edytungkal (4551) 2008-08-06 17:56
I see you have so many beautiful pictures with pro composition and i think this shot is one of your best, great idea to place the couple on the left and just shows the half of this beautiful woman. Great job and thanks :-)
coco (30439) 2008-08-07 16:17
Also, also I want to have that lens (but for Nikon).
The timming, the composition, the deep and the expression of her face are amazing.
anes_lc (14968) 2008-08-12 12:57
so i saw this one when you post it ..and i felt in love :) ....the best shot from our meeting in my opinion
congratulation dear chris
rigoletto (34279) 2008-08-22 16:00
i've been following the critiques, being added one by one, everyday to this marvellous photo of yours, and why not be it my turn to compliment?
it is a bright work of a photographic mind, so simple yet so strong. the extremely clever focus, the well caught innocence of the willing and curious face and the one tenth presence of the groom... is she really enjoying the cityscape or is she flirting with her husband? i guess, the second.
i was sure that this photo would go to my jewel box. and here it is :)
jorgi (3810) 2008-09-05 2:17
i noticed there are more and more captures with people on your shots. Maybe you needed a new challenge to, i do not know..but i know this is a masterpiece i am seeing here. Such a soft photo, perfect to stress this most gentle emotion of ours: love. I absolutely love it. One of those shots when i thik to myself: why didn't i take it. :)
temmel (2496) 2008-09-17 3:45
Hallo Christian !
I missed so much photo , so i dont know where to start..
I choosed this, which goes right now to my favs!!
There are so many things what i love on this shot...i just cant write it all here...
pavseljn (75) 2008-11-17 5:54
Just done browsing through your entire gallery, you can imagine it took me quite some time :) but it was worth it, I just had to see all the photos! I can see you are an early bird (I am not! Waking up in the morning is a torture! :)), well your award is to catch all the tranquility, emptiness, fog and colors of the morning. Your photos of the Alps and the landscapes between our countries are just magnificent! You definitely are a fog photographer! :)
And I loved all the photos of people all over the world, especially Cuba! It's a vibrant and almost a tragic country.
And great notes too!
I could give points to every single one of your photos, but unfortunately I don't have enough time :) So I'm starting with this one. It's not most typical for you, (which doesn't mean I don't like your typical photos! :)) but this one is just so warm, simple and romantic... What can I say, I'm a romantic girl :) Great composition too!
All we need is love... :)
cray-z (48) 2008-12-10 1:29
Great shot. It is not important where they are. It is important that they are in love. Anywhere... everywhere.
I also love the colour version. The complementary colours are prefectly balanced.
ls7902 (7348) 2009-01-14 19:28
I like the way you took this shot with the great lens. Great focus on the woman face with the rest blurred. Great feeling of intimacy ... now that you are giving a choice I prefer this one than the WS version. I would not have known that he is wearing a sleeved t-shirt and it blended well with the skin and background. A good one. Regards. Latiff.
PS: You have a great gallery. You do well with both landscapes and people. I hope to learn from your gallery.
roadends (794) 2009-06-18 4:03
It's a nice photo but jesus these close up voyeur shots make me frightened to do anything in public. I mean this is a pretty intrusive capture of a very intimate and private moment.
CLODO (34240) 2009-07-18 7:04
I would like to discover Budapest thanks to your lovely shot. That's TE spirit!
My best regards
arijit_ghosh86 (795) 2011-09-12 14:23
Wonderful....no words..must say you got a beautiful lady better to say model for free...
what a clarity ...wow.
