Photographer’s Note
An early rise got me to a spot I'd staked out the previous day at the edge of Kawaguchiko (lake)where I got this shot.
(Reposted following advice from other members. I have run auto-level in PS and darkened a little to bring it closer to how I remember it. I've lost a lot of the colour in the sky that I liked before though, so I'm not sure if this brighter version is better than the original.)

I think this version is much improved, particularly because the mountain's reflection in the lake is more prominent and the tiny boat and man (providing scale) is clearly visible.

A nice balance of detail and contrast, more successfully realized than in the "original."

"what a calm, sshhhhht..."
Wonderful composition.
I prefer that than the darker original, as we can now see more precisely the mist and the barge.

Excellent shot. Well composed with the boat & figure to add interest & scale.

Not only is this an excellent image, but it is also more than just the cliched representation of Fuji-san.
You have added a new interreptation to an old subject. Excellent.

I think I'm going to have to be contrary here. The original shot has better color saturation, so even though it's a bit darker I much prefer it. Excellent photo!

I really love this picture! (my Favorite!)
Nice composition! Lovely sky and lake,
and of course, for ever beautiful Mount Fuji!
Lucky U with clear sky there!

Great picture! I think this reposted picture is much better than the original version. To bad you don't allow workshops, othervise I would have posted a mix of the two pictures.

Beautiful scenery!
It is indeed like a cart costal.
I have no comments since i total moved from the reslt as it is. I could only wish that the boat was a bit closer to the eye... but you can`t have it all

What a wonderful composition you have here. It's wonderful in it's simplicity. Very well done.

A wonderfull curve, round with the rising sun, a small boat adds quietness on this lake where Fuji-san reflects... This composition is simple, nothing to add and nothing to crop. Beautifull.

I like this simple composition it is so clean and clear. The reflection is lovely the way that it blends to the water.I have a normal EOS3 and scan using dimage scan elite which is the best scanner I have had so far but after seeing the quality of these I really must convert.do you do any pp to get these results or are they straight from your canon.

Classic photo of one of nature's most majestic peaks.
I like the mood and the overall calmness that pervades the photo. The little fishing boat is an added delight.
Great shot. Thanks

oh man this is an amazing shot and I think that you should be happy with the results. This looks so beautiful! Wow, absolutely amazing! Like seriously! WOW!
You have all of the key elements in this shot! even the little boat to add depth and scale! Man, this should have hundreds of points! Amazing!

Hi Martin,
I've commented already on your original photo. I appreciate the opportunity to look at a variation, and while I think your intentions are good, the original photo is a much more natural image. The quality of light on the left side of this image appears a bit artificial: sunlight disperses more naturally in your original version, especially on a clear day.
Thank you for this shot. My instincts and my eye are pleased much more by the original photo.
Best,
José
