Namibe (pre-1985: Moçâmedes) is the capital city of Namibe Province in Angola. Namibe is located in southwestern Angola and was founded in 1840.
Namibe has a cool dry climate and desert vegetation.
It is the terminus of the southern railway network of Angolan Railways,and one of Angola's 3 major ports, including Luanda and Lobito as well.

Namibe é uma cidade e município de Angola, capital da província do Namibe.
Foi fundada em 1840 e, até 1985, foi denominada Moçâmedes. É o terceiro maior porto de Angola, depois de Luanda e Lobito. É também o terminal do caminho-de-ferro do Namibe. A região é maioritariamente desértica, com clima fresco e seco. Alberga a Welwitschia mirabilis, espécie de planta que só existe nesta região.
