Photographer’s Note

I am back with a new photograph, after a difficult period with my PC, I hope that is everyting over.

Sint Anna ter Muiden is a small village about 1 km west from Sluis, in the municipality of the same name. It is located on the westernmost point of the Netherlands, in the province of Zeeland. It has a population of 50 (as of 2001), which makes it the second smallest official city in the Netherlands (after Staverden, which has city rights, but never developed into a proper city).

Sint Anna ter Muiden was granted city rights in 1242 by the counts of Flanders, Thomas II of Savoy and Jeanne of Flanders.
Sint Anna ter Muiden was a separate municipality until 1880, when it was merged with Sluis. Prior to January 1, 2003, it was in the former municipality of Sluis-Aardenburg.

Hi John,
Didn't look much like Flanders, so i checked for it and it came out to be from Netherlands :)
Did you meet Carper there?
Whereever you are, you find your classical V-POV, and this gives a great 3D effect and perspective to your photos. Here, the light is fantastic again, and the rich colors add to the charm. TFS,

Très joli point de vue ici et pas d'élément perturbateur pour gâcher la photo. J'aime beaucoup le piqué de l'image et surtout cette merveilleuse lumière qui rehausse agréablement les couleurs naturelles de la composition. Un petit village bien où il doit faire bon vivre. Merci John.

Hallo, John. Een mooi stadje dat er zeer proper uitziet. De kasseien scheppen een mooie sfeer in het beeld. DE diagonale lijn van de straat leidt ons naar de kerktoren die typisch is voor die streek. Het licht is heel goed met een mooie lucht. Een beetje jammer dat de boom aan de linkerkant een deel van het huis aan het oog onttrekt. Voor de rest is de compositie heel goed.

Hallo John,
Een mooie wijds perspectief wat tevens erg goed in de kleuren zit. Het rood van de daken en het blauw daarboven werken erg goed samen en geven een mooie sfeerrijke foto. Blijf het knap vinden dat je telkens weer iets moois weet te brouwen met bijna uitsluitend die 16-35...respect.

The diagonal of the street is dividing the photo nicely. The trees are a natural frame to the houses. The light has a good effect on the colors and is giving a good contrast between them. The point of view leads our eyes toward the castle. Have a nice day.

Excellent composition and POV! The road creates a diagonal through the shot creating a sense of direction and leads the eye through the shot. The lighting and colors are great as is the sharpness and DOF. This is a very attractive scene and you have presented it well.

Wonderfully sharp details to the lovely coblestone street that contrast nicely with the lovely traditional Dutch cottages with their colorful orange roofs that are beautifully complimented by the striking blue sky with its pretty wispy clouds.

It's really impressive that the village with only 50 inhabitants has the urban status. In the meantime,
some satelites of big metropolies with more than 100.000 "sleepyheads" legally are sitll hamplets.
