The Tagus (Latin Tagus, Spanish Tajo, Portuguese Tejo, pron. IPA: ['tɛʒʊ], Ancient greek Tàghos, Ταγος) is the longest river on the Iberian Peninsula. It measures 1,038 kilometers in length, 716 km of which are in Spain, 47 km as border between Portugal and Spain and the remaining 275 km in Portugal, where it empties into the Atlantic at Lisbon. It drains an area of 80,100 km² (the second largest in the Iberian peninsula after the Douro). It follows a very constricted course for much of its length, but after Almourol it enters a vast alluvial valley prone to flooding. Today the Alcantara Dam regulates much of the river's flow.

The source of the Tagus is the Fuente de García, in the Albarracín mountains. All its major tributaries enter the Tagus from the right (north) bank. The main cities it passes through are Aranjuez, Toledo and Talavera de la Reina in Spain, and Abrantes, Santarém, Almada and Lisbon in Portugal.

Hello Paulo,
Fantastic composition and view to the city and the never ending field of depth.I like how nicely the red house tops contrasitng the amazing blue sky,full of white clouds.

Oi, Paulo. Ficou muito bonita esta sua tomada, pois ao olharmos ela nos passa a sensação de um puzzle em virtude dos telhados vermelhos, e a forma como estão dispostos. Os contrastes ficaram ótimos com o bom uso do PL. Bela mostra. Abraço, Consuelo

Ja lá estive para tirar umas fotos mas apanhei um dia muito ventoso e não foi facil estabilizar a camera.
De facto esta vista é lindissima e as cores vivas admiraveis.

bela vista do tejão velho de guerra. Gosto do vermelho dos telhados em contraste com os azuis da água, isso pra não mencionar as pequenas nuvens em conjunto. Este é o Mar de Palha, não é ? linda luz e pov

Hey Paolo,
A very clear shot, the polarizer filter played the best part for that cloudy and vivid sky
The POV though is composed well. Correct position of the horizon, sea level, and your main subject the city of course from that hike you were up.

The sharpness is a bit extra crispy for my eyes, but don't get me wrong I like soft edges and graduals, however I have a way on sharping after resize to make the picture look like the big one. (Resize, duplicate background layer, sharpen, layer fill = 70%) thats it

Hello Paulo, I've taken many photos from this monument but always towards the opposite side as many other photographers do. But this beautiful photo of yours is unusual with a different perspective. Red roofs and white clouds sailing over the Rio Tejo are simply amazing. Congratulations, Tolga

Bom dia Paulo, uma vez que te 'roubaram' o último smile aproveito para te fazer já a 1ª visita da manhã. Acho piada a esta foto por mostrar uma vista não muito habitual. Quero dizer, estando no Cristo Rei, o pessoal quer é ver a ponte e Lisboa. Até porque Almada não é propriamente bonita. E no entanto a tua foto é suficientemente boa para fazer a vista atraente. Cores e contrastes fortes, um céu polarizado com umas nuvenzitas a embelezar. A baía lá atrás é talvez o elemento mais atraente se bem que os telhados fazem um contraste agradável de observar. Bem melhor do que a outra também por a luz aqui estar muito mais favorável.
Boa papagolfada ;-)
eu ainda não sei o que vou escolher...
