Photographer’s Note
La Recoleta Cemetery is a famous cemetery located in the centre of Buenos Aires. It was inaugurated in 1822 becoming the first public cementery of B.A. and the most relevant historical and artistic monument of the country. This site of 54.834 square metres has 4.800 vaults. The most relevant players of Argentine history rest in Recoleta: politicians, military men, ststesmen, explorers, leaders, writers, poets etc. Many people visit this place to honour Eva Peron. We can also can find there a Polish reminiscence: Isabel Walewski Colonna (grandson of Napoleón Bonaparte).

Dear Maciej, for me this cemetery is really resembles the Pere Lachaise in Paris. I added it to my theme about special cemeteries called 'Beyond Styx'. TFS, Jalab
