Photographer’s Note

Daily life moment in Bellagio, Lake of Como.
Mid February, deep winter in whole Italy, meters of snow on the Alps, excepth on the Lake district, 35 kilometers North of Milano.

People (and us with them) took an "aperitivo"(*) at the sunset time, sitted on an open air bar, looking the sun going down in the lake.
Warm wind, warm temperature, with the top of the peaks on the lake shores covered by the snow at over 2.000.

In Italian cuisine the aperitivo is very popular, especially in the north of Italy.
Milan prides itself as "capital of the aperitif".
In Milan and closest cities, the offering made with great as an elaborate buffet including hot dishes, pizza and pasta; the aperitif is becoming an attraction in itself as many more bars aggressively compete for the "aperitivo" crowd.

A sunset picture with a difference. I like how the silhouettes of those strange pollarded trees are framing the view. The light hitting the red tables is wonderful and attracts the eye amongst the silhouetted people. well done

Mi piace questo tipo di immagine, che trascende la semplice rappresentazione delle condizioni e dell'atmosfera del momento. Vai dunque al di là del figurativismo - che ti avrebbe portato a correggere l'esposizione - e lasci fare alla macchina, ci fai vedere come la macchina vede la realtà, con occhi diversi dai nostri. Un bel modo di fotografare.

I like the back light with the trees. To have fewer people in the bottom part might give a better shot for me, but still the colours contrast and the light management is great. You've got nice reflection on the tables and a nice framing and POV

Beautiful sunset image, very well composed. Very inviting, can I reserved a table for two? will be there don't know when but soon, I hope. Very good DoF with Silhoutte of the restaurant and people and the soft background of the lake and mountains. Very nice color and light for this romantic dinner. Thanks

mi piace molto questo controluce gestito veramente alla grande. E` un aspetto fotografico in cui io proprio non ci acchiappo...
Bellissimi quelli stralci rossofuoco sui tavolini che accentuano le silhouettes degli avventori, e bellissima anche la veduta al tramonto.
Mica per niente che George Clooney bazzica sempre da 'ste parti!
E grazie ancora per essere passato dalle mie parti l'altro giorno (vedi : Zaanse Green).

ma che posto fantastico (molto raffinato!), invidio molto chi ha vissuto un attimo così.
la foto è molto bella e l'ho scoperta perchè è una preferita di lasse lofstrom. le macchie rosse dei tavoli fanno la differenza, davvero molto bella.

Le tue fotografie sono semplicemente incrdibile! Sono stata a gennaio a lago di como,però il giono che sono stata nn era uno dei più belli :) almeno la tua foto è bellissima mi fa piacere. Mi fa ricordare l' italia che sempre quando inizia la sera tutti vanno a prendere un caffè!
