Photographer’s Note
A brilliant (and very cold) morning in the Scottish Highlands.
Taken in December 2007.
After a long time of a completely hopeless weather there was a chance for some long awaiting change. I was quite fortunate to be in the field when it happened.
In the background you can see one of the most recognisable peaks here - famous Buachaille Etive Mor.
I know that this composition is very popular and not at all unique, but the geography of this place and its amazing popularity makes it really hard to create something extraordinary. In my opinion, however it is all about light and weather that makes a particular shot unique, so the possibilities are almost endless.
Hope you'll like it
Cheers, Piotr

Hi Piotr,
great shot. I love the veil of cloud around the mountain, together with the beautiful light and the ice on the brook it creates a spectacular view.
Bravo

A nice shot Piotr, plenty of foreground interest, good clean colours with the frost and the sky colour portraying the sense of cold well. Very well composed with just the right depth of field. A pleasure to such a natural looking shot.

Hi Piotr,
Great shot ! A very good composition, with the river driving us to the very famous Buachaille Etive Mor. I love the contrast between cold and warm elemens in your composition, between ice on the river and warm light that makes the field so colourful.
Thanks for posting,
Regards
Olivier

The harder it is to catch the more valuable it is. I'm glade you the opportunity present itself and you were there to take advantage of it and share wiht us this beautiful scene, I personally would find to cold to be out there. Okay maybe for a little bit I'll be okay. Great play of the shadow and light. Lovely warm color on this cold harsh landscape. Great composition and all is perfectly balanced. Great work. Thanks

Hi Piotr
Wonderful landscape with the light of sundown at left. Good deep of field who give the details of the mountain and capture of the misty clouds. I like the water falling and frozen stones on the shore
