Photographer’s Note

This photo was taken at the end of a hike over the Pálava mountains in the centre of the small city called Mikulov. It is situated in the south of Moravia, very close to Austrian borders. Its history dates back to Middle Ages and you can see and visit many historic buildings, including the castle (whose tower is visible in the background), the Dietrichstein´s tomb or the Jewish cemetary there. The city is also the gate to the Pálava hills Protected Landscape Area, which is the warmest place of the Czech Republic, known also for its great conditions for growing vine.
