Feeling Misty Photo

Photographer’s Note

There are many lakes in Jasper National Park, and I took many photos of different lakes and I don’t even remember which lake this is taken at. It was on my way back to the lodge, when I look back to see the mist rising on the lake. And the light was just beautiful and I took a few shots before leaving. Hope you enjoy it.

Jasper National Park is the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies, spanning 10,878 km² (4200 mi²). It is located in the province of Alberta, to the north of Banff National Park and west of the city of Edmonton. The park includes the glaciers of the Columbia Icefield, hot springs, lakes, waterfalls and, of course, mountains. Wildlife in the park include elk, caribou, moose, mule deer, white-tailed deer, mountain goat, bighorn sheep, grizzly bear, black bear, beaver, Rocky Mountain pika, hoary marmot, gray wolf, mountain lion, and wolverine.

Very nice, simple composition with a relaxing summer mood. I like the pastels in the background created by mist (and maybe some additional editing?) which add softness to the scene.

only one thing to do with the shot like this - add it to my favourites. love the shimmering light and the dream-like mood it creates. the simple composition works well to frame the lake, I particularly like the one boat that's different from the rest, very nice accent. excellent work, my compliments.

Hello Way, The combination of sparkle and blurring is unusual and very effective.Beautiful colours, particularly the red-browns. The leaf-shaped upturned boats and the T shaped jetty make attractive simple shapes.
Very pleasing to the eye.

The misty impression all around is fantastic and gives a magnificent mood. The composition is great as well excpet maybe for the last boat on the left which is cut.
It is floating something unreal in your beautiful picture, I like that a lot.

Could be any lake in the rockies, there are so many who are photogenic. You found a nice and peaceful surrounding. How nice that the boat who is isolated from the rest is turned, a nice effect. The effect for softening is also what i like here to give that serene feeling something extra...very nice.

A well composed shot to show the lake and the platform and a small jetty. The FG boats really well placed. Too bad you cannot avoid the dark patch in the bottom middle without cropping the boat. I particularly like the color tone of blur reflection in the water.

Your work on the saturation of colors is magnificent. I like these tints of blue and gold which juxtapose. The composition is very pleasant also with these boats turned except one almost to the continuation of the pontoon. A mixture of peace and rhythm as a very beautiful music.

Hi Way,

Very nice blurring effect. It lends a nice appeal to the image but it really elevates the look of the water. It looks almost metallic. Including just a notion of the distant shoreline was a good choice to my eye to balance the foreground elements.

I could be wrong, it looks like Pyramid lake which is just a bit further from Patricia Lake.
This lake has lots of boats and deckings just like your capture. Love the misty look and colours. Well worked and captured

A very simple and effective composition. The reflections of the colourful sky on the water and on the back of the boats adds a lot of interest. It would have been better if there was someone sitting at the tip of the jetty, but that requires a bit of luck, unless it is pre-arranged.

Hi Way, i was waiting for this photo term to critique, the title should me "a dream" because that kind of blurry visibility we only see in dreams. fantastic nature game you presented, i like the smoothness in parts and contrast in others. very well done.

Dreamy, soothing and peaceful, not to mention beautiful! This is a pro composition with very good balance of light and colours. I'm not sure what lake this is but is definitely one of the many in Jasper. Good perspective with the canoes on the foreground and not a soul around :-)

Canada, smelling with a maple sugar, just like a title of Polish traveller and writer's book about Canada. I was thinking of going to Canada next vacations with a scientific trip organized by Warsaw University students and now I'm sure about how this country worth visiting is.
If I see something ugliest in the world, I will ask you to take a photo of this for the sake of making it beautiful.
