Photographer’s Note
Looking like a Hollywood movie set, the sprawling Forbidden City, in Beijing, is now open to the Public. Tianamen Square is beyond the rooftops, on the horizon. From 'travellerspoint.com':
"The Forbidden City, located in Beijing, was the home of the Emperor and the Imperial Chinese government for almost five centuries. Orginally built in the Yuan dynasty by the Mongolians it had a major face lift during the Ming dynasty to look like the palaces it does today. This is one of the most amazing palaces in the world, with thousands of rooms facing dozens of major courtyards. Remember to take some time to relax and enjoy the nice gardens, explore the side chambers that few visitors go to see, and walk on the royal highway down the center of the Forbidden City."

Bonjour Chris
Un bon cliché de cette célèbre cité interdite que j'ai eu le plaisir de visiter. C'est bien cadré. Je vois qu'il y a toujours autant de monde et ta photo me rappelle de bons souvenirs.

Hi Chris,
Not forbidden anymore, so zillions of tourists, foreign and Chinese alike, flock to see this place, and rightly so! You have an interesting POV from above, to show the gate and people crowding the area. Sharp with well mmanaged light and colors, I think the Beijing sky and light are quite difficult!
Greetings

Hello Chris, I did not know that it was allowed photographiers the prohibited city, so much better for we who can thus benefit from this mythical place to present so well, it is true that the size of the place makes a little think of a film decoration of Hollywood, very beautiful sight richly decorated by grinds details, sincerely ........Hello Chris, je ne savais pas qu’il était permis de photographiers la cité interdite, tant mieux pour nous qui pouvons profiter ainsi de ce lieu mythique si bien présenter, c’est vrai que la grandeur de l’endroit fait un peu penser à un décor de film de Hollywood, très belle vue richement décorée par moult détaille, bien amicalement

Hello Chris,
Indeed, this photograph looks like a Hollywood set. It also brings back some moments of anxiety. In 1983 while visiting the Fobidden City, I lost my tour group, with nary an English speaking individual in site. I might as well have been exiled on the moon. The vantage point you've chosen is excellent, maximizing the action on "the set." What is completely different from 1983 is the lack of lackluster Mao outfits.
Warm regards from 12 time zones away,
Bulent

Hola Chris.
Great view of the famous place captured from a good POV, the overcrowded yard of the palace produces a different contrast with the past. very good colors and sharpness. Good note.

Namaste Chris
Good POV from the corner to show us the entire square of the forbidden city. Like the way you included the stairs & the gilded lions overlooking the square. Must be a place of great interest I'm sure! Good work!

Those crowds in the vast open spaces of Beijing are amusing to watch and I like the POV that you took... I guess that you changed the colour of the sky for this photo too, the result is convincing !
TFS,
Cath.
