Photographer’s Note
One of the life guard towers at City Beach, taken as Lake Coeur d'Alene recedes from flood levels. During tourist season (when the lake is at a normal water level), the water would not be visible from this perspective.
After record levels of snow, long winter, and abnormally cold spring, followed by a bit of rain and above average temperatures cause the area's lakes and rivers to flood. The water level at City Beach had been higher - covering most of the sand. Water levels had started to go down the day before this picture was taken.
