Photographer’s Note
The church belongs to Lavant (click several times on the map left). The first church here was built definitely before 750, Charlemagne (Karl der Große) ordered it to the Patriarchat of Aquileia in 811. It was ordered in 1798 under the bishop of Brixen (Bressanone), later the bishop of Innsbruck.
The great mount is part of the Lienzer Dolomiten, you can read more about them here.

Wow, this shot is all about scale for me. It owuldn't work as well as it does without the little church (probably isn't so little when you're right next to it!). Lovely depth to the image and the colours are lush and good clarity. Teriffic. Regards, TW

Really nice scene. The small church is so incredibly dwarfed by the immensity of the mountain. Very good use of scale. Thanks for sharing!

Szia Laszlo,

Hello Laszlo!
Wow, what a beautiful view!
The picture has natural colors, great POV, sharpness and a magnificent composition, putting together the giant mountain and the small church! That certainly gives the right sense of size and allows us to compare them perfectly!
It's a wonderful landscape indeed!
TFS - Congratulations!

Hello Laszlo,
This is so beautiful to me and a great composition that deserved a big credit for the effort for capturing it!
An image with top quality in the exposure and focus especailly in the focal point with the majastic mountain and the far distance small church in full sharpness, my compliment for that!
very natural colouration and many small details can be seen!
take care and my best regards to you and family

Hello Laszlo, friend,
Austria should be a great inspiration for photographes and artistes. All your last photos are really nice. I like very much. Especially here, I like the "little" church on the corner. Felicitations! Be happy dear friend,

Dear Laszlo,
Your shot has great beauty and drama. The tiny church with its spire pointing bravely to heaven, despite being dwarfed by the the vast crags behind, makes this shot special. The light is good, the colours of the forest are deep and rich green and the mountain is very well defined. Superb!!
Very best wishes....Maggie

Le proporzioni di questa suggestiva immagine ci danno la sensazione di quanto sia imponente la natura e di quanto piccolo è l'uomo. Bravo, caro Laszlo, sei riuscito a catturare una immagine fantastica.
Ciao e buona settimana.

Hi Laszlo,
a wonderful view, reminding me of my childhood. I atended school in Lienz, so this was on my way to school.. :)
As a child you don´t see the beauty of nature as much I do now.
TFS, compliments, Christian

Das sind die gewaltigen Panoramen, die eien Berglandschaft so schön macht. Wunderbares Foto mit einer gewaltigen Tiefe. Die Schärfe ist auch sehr gut gelungen.

Hi Laszlo!
This picture is superb! The title expresses the reality! I love scenes like this one! The massif is really great and the snow decorates it very well! The church is considered as dependant of the mountain or vice versa!
Have a nice afternoon,
Athanasios.

Hello Laszlo,
You have an extremely rich gallery of photographs, and it is a pleasure to earmark your gallery as one of my favorites. The beautifully composed shot includes a touch of local culture in that church, which also serves as a gauge to put the majestic Austrian Alps in perspective. A favorite image of mine is a view of the “Austrian Alps” from the air. Moreover, I see that you posted the image on June 10, which happens to be my birthday.
Warm regards,
Bulent
