Photographer’s Note

Some of you who have been following my story about my friend's hobby farm, the sale of this place and my sentiments about such a lovely place, will hopefully enjoy a few more shots that I intend to post at one time or another.
This shot was taken on a still Autumn day, actually the last day before the property changed ownership. It was a traumatic day for my friend, as a group of us gathered for a barbecue to say farewell to the place. And as luck would have it, the new owner came for a chat and was taken for a up-to-date inspection of the property. This was all too emotional for the old owner whose heart started racing and he had to be taken to hospital. He is relatively fine now, under medication.
Places can grow on you, just like people, and saying goodbye can be just as heart breaking.

This is a gorgeous, flawless landscape with exquisite color and sharpness of detail. The reflecion in the water and shadows are amazingly clear. What a touching note too.

beautiful composition, beautiful POV...great coloration. I love the blue of the sky and the mirror like reflection of the water. Unfortunately I've never made it as far as Australia!

Your composition is great using the reflection to create depth and balance. The lighting and colors are great with nice sharpness and detail. The overhanging tree and grass in the foreground break up the symmetry nicely.

Hi Klaudio, it would hurt, a lot, to give this up, so I feel for your friend. You've preserved this memory well I think, in this shot. You've captured not just the house, the pond and trees, but in this light with this colour you've captured the mood of the place, the quiet serenity that your friend probably remembers it for. The quiet tone seen in the reflections in the pond is one of peace. Pictures are for memories, this is probably one of the best gifts you could give your friend.

Have been to Dordogne region for past week and no internet; hope to upload something in the next day or so.
This is a beauty with incredible mirror like reflection and reeds below and branches above to break the symmetry. Very pleasant late autumn light casts lovely afternoon shadows. Somewhat superior to the next upload which is rather more 'busy'.

Klaudio bonjour.

Un effet miroir d'une très grande beauté. L'eau si calme reflète jusqu'aux plus petits détails. Les couleurs sont sublimes et le petit plus c'est les herbes qui émergent pour faire un beau graphisme avec leur reflet.
