Photographer's Note
One of the last 5 Super Constellations in state of flight in the world in display in Payerne. Maybe it will recall some memories of travels to our seniors on TE :-)
Not satisfied by the original color balance, I applied a sepia filter (100%).
f18, 1/160s, ISO200, +0EV, 255mm (170mm x 1.5).

Excellent photo, Philippe! Shutter speed was perfect to blur the props. I really like the sepia tone as well.
There is a Super Constellation owned by Kermit Weeks at his Fantasy of Flight museum outside of Lakeland, Florida in the U.S. It's not airworthy yet, but is undergoing restoration. His website can be viewed at: www.fantasyofflight.com

Very classic looking shot. The sepia worked beautifully on here as your capture of the sun reflecting off the various surfaces. Just looking at it gives it a classic era of aviation feel. It has the light of endless possibilities and advances possible in the field. And also of the latest, most cutting edge, technology even though this has obviously been eclipsed long ago. Very beautifully done. I can almost hear the engines and see it slowly move across the sky. Very nice work all around.

Hi Phillipe, great shot. I really like the composition and the use of sepia here really helps bring out the older feel I'm sure you were looking for. Thanks, Don.

Très belle photo d'avion, Philippe! Bon cadrage, et bonne idée d'utiliser un filtre sépia qui donne un petit coté retro à ce cliché! Bien vu!

Very crisp detail of this fine old plane, Philippe. An ideal shooting perspective to get a good overview on the machine, and I like the motion blur in the propellers. The postwork came out pretty good and seems to particularly enhance the side light that the sun casts on the plane

Great shot Philippe;
Great detail, and I think the sepia filter adds a sense of history to the photo, which compliments it.
Well done!

That's an old one and in flight, very nice done, because I've always problems with the digital camera to catch "flying things"...
Great shot, Philippe !

I always wonder how come those heavy metal machines are able to lift themselves in the air (no need for an answer here lol), I simply admire them. I like this photo, very crisp, good monochrome conversion, some part are overexposed but they aren't going to wait for you to properly set the exposure lol. Nice tight crop, although you may consider leaving just a bit more room on each side. Frame nicely complements the picture.

Bonjour Philippe,
Quel bel avion que ce Super Constellation !!
J'ai eu la chance de le visiter l'an dernier au Bourget lors de son voyage de retour des Etats Unis.
Le traitement sépia est bien adapté à un "oldies" comme lui.
Magnifique photo.
Amicalement.
Yves
