Photographer’s Note
Hello friends in TE.
Recovering from wasp stings, I decided to do something safer for the uninsured amateur photographer - mowing the lawn. After a few rounds of driving in circle and I am not talking about Formula One - the thought came to mind to do self portrait. I parked my mower and headed for the dry cabinet and back, armed with camera, wireless remote and tripod. I sat on the mower but the remote failed to work probably because of the distance. Climbed down and pulled another trigger and here is the capture. Since self portrait is not in the spirit of TE, I took an earlier shot here minus the human interest. Thanks for viewing
Pablo (Pablominto) commented on my post a few days back predicting that the rain will be coming soon. He was right about that as it was raining about an hour after this shot. Thanks for viewing.

Hi Jusni,
What a waste of grass. You should get a couple of cows. They would make an interesting rural life photo. I imagine them sitting under the shade or where the tractor is in wide angle perspective. Anyway, a nice photo with well saturated colors. Great lighting with interesting shadows. Regards. Latiff.

Hello Jusni,
Oh yes, I'm the weather man..!
Even if this is a well balanced composition with rich colours and fine details, the most impressive is the size of your lawn... You can arrange football matches there!
No wonder you're equipped with this huge lawn mower, hahaha!
Greetings,

I like the quality of the colours here - you captured that post-rain freshness very well. Something about the texture of the image gives it the feel of a film based image, which works well.
I like how you placed the tractor off-centre, but with all that space to play with it would have been much better if you'd managed to keep the mower fully in-frame - no excuses for chopping the back end off!
Cheers,
Ben

Abang Jusni,
Looks like you have a lots to do on mowing the lawn with such a big piece of land around your rumah! what sort of fruit trees around it?
I loved the setting sun lighting on your big lawn here also the great depth in the image!

Very nice combination of colors, I like the contrast between the green grass and the red mower, all under the grey sky. The sky is grey, but we had a very pleasant before-the-storm light. Excellent light-shadows play, simple and effective compo--the lawn, the mower, the distant white house.

Hi Jusni,
nothing better could be done with your wide angle lens. That's a good example of how to use it for a good composition. I see a nice strong perspective of the grass and the tractor until we reach the house on the 2nd third. Is that shadow at the left yours? If so, your signature for this. Great job!

Carlos

Hi Jusni,
Red tractor is shining in the middle of green field while we are recognizing your splendid capture easily full with low angled light. I like long shadows on ground and illuminated white facade a lot too. Great scene, perfect capture. Congratulations.

Assalammualaikum Jusni,
I can see how much your work is cut out for you. I would never get to mow this much lawn let alone owning one in this life time, with the walk up I have for home.
I can also see how wide open spaces affect your mind and style of photography but somehow you need to restrict that. This on account of your wide angle lens but still nipping off the cutter thingy. Or maybe because of your remote? Ican also see why you took this angle. This is to show where your tractor is heading into.
Happy mowing Lawnmower Man

Hi Jusni,
Wonderful strong saturated colours here , and I like the criss crossing patterns of light and shade on the lawn. Good contrast between the lawn and the mower and nicely composed so that our eye is led from the mower to the house in the background.

Hi Jusni, I had a good laugh when I looked at your self portrait. Is that supposed to be your better side? Before I went to see it I was all set to see you standing there in a typical pose, looking at the camera. Both shots are good, we see a bit of your daily life here with very good light, and great pre-storm colour.
Thanks, John

I like the way you have been using textures and lights in your images lateley Jusni and the impact that you create. I think Pablo used local knowledge to predict rains. In India we have farmers who smell the air to do so and at times even by the way the birds chirp or the wind blows.

Hi Jusni,
Very good composition and original motive too. I like very much the contrast among the green grass in very nice different tones and shadows, the red tractor and the nice white house. Pleasant view!

Jusni,
a nice composition and light to give the right surroundings for this huge lawn maker in the right off center foreground. I like the fact that you cut of part of it. That provides the impression that the machine is still entering the image, it gives movement!
What about trying the same composition next time with one line of mowed grass leading to the background and leaving all the rest not cut to give even more a dynamic impression.

Hello Jusni,
While looking at this beautifully executed shot, and compared to what I saw when I went out again with Santo, the thought of putting in a few sheeps sound like a good idea! Would you like to order a couple of calves? :-))))
This shot has excellent exposure and I like the highlighted house in the BG. Its good to get a glimpse of your daily life which is really interesting.
The WS shot is really hilarious and I am sure it gives many of us a good laugh for the day.

hi Jusni
Doing such a lawn takes a bit of effort and mixing the chore with photography is a first that I see anywhere, especially when it is the operator and photographer combined in 1. I should say you get a little bored with the mower or you get more excited about photography than the grass and must shoot the machine as your companion, and let the grass be the backdrop.
Perhaps I could also suggest repeating this same process when it rains, you might find a totally different viewpoint! Try it

Hi Jusni,
This garden of yours looks larger than a football field and the grass is in better shape than the finest golf course! The POV is great, the colours are very well rendered and the razing sun light enhances the deep perspective also produced by the POV. The high contrast is certainly catchy, but I find it a bit overdone, specially because there are shadows too dark and highlights too bright.
Regards, José.

Hi Jusni,
Beautiful and colourful shot. You have made the very best use of the attractive evening light. The perspective is also very good and the tactor and the lines in the grass works well as a lead in to the white house in the background. TFS and have a nice week-end!

Hello Jusni,
It is comforting to note that photography is a leisure of the photographer who can actually make more useful and serious things:) It is a beautiful image with the colors strong and made and with accompanying notes with humour.

Hello Jusni, looks like you had some fun mowing that grass by the looks of the pattern.
Well composed, I think the light is interesting here and in my opinion makes this shot. Good saturation of colour.
Well done.

Hello Jusni
What a beautiful play of light & shade you got on the grass! Like the way you composed this image with the tractor right from the corner, but could have framed a bit to the right to avoid chopping of the rear. Well done!

Salam Jusni,
waht a pity you got stung. It is an antibody injected.
I see you have a few apple trees in your yards. Your garden is big and very green. The orange tractor gives a great impact to the green BG and the wide-angle lens push a deep impact into making this shot a great one.
Regards,
Foozi
