Photographer’s Note
Inside of Budapest Opera House.
I made this B&W photo quite strong with large contrast -the purpose was to highlight all the ornaments. At the end it gave quite surrealistic and chaotic effect as
You need few seconds to understand the perspective...
Anyway:
Budapest Opera House will enchant you not only with its ballet and opera performances but with its fine neo-Renaissance architecture.
The building fits well in with the similarly elegant neighborhood on Andrássy Avenue. Hungary's greatest Historicist architect, Miklós Ybl designed the building for the Millennium celebrations in 19th century.
Construction started in 1875 and the building was finished in 1884. Ybl oversaw the work himself with painstaking care.
Emperor Franz Joseph financed the construction, though he received little recognition for his generosity. He in turn didn't appreciated the architect's work on the opening ceremony: "It's very beautiful. I like it very much." was all he said about Europe's most magnificent and modern opera house.

Hi Bartosz,
I am not sure what is the line for postprocessing in TE, if this too much or not... I read some complaints of excessive pp in TE forum yesterday. Don't get me wrong, I really like what you did here, I would like to try it myself. I am just saying what I read.
B&W choice and highly contrast makes the interior so attractive. It almost looks like a painting. My compliments...

It's very beautiful, I like it very much:)))
No, seriously, I don't mind the PP, although the heavy contrast seems to take away some of the depth in the shot. A matter of choices.
Benny
