Photographer’s Note

today, big clouds, but even with a poor light, poppies are always eye-catcing isn't it ? and the dark sky was interesting, but of course i'll try some other shots when the sun will be back... horizontal framing on TL (with more PP on the colours)

Bonjour Jonathan ,
Magnifiques coquelicots sous ce ciel menaçant . Il y a encore des agriculteurs qui n'utilisent pas trop de désherbant dans ta région ?
Superbe contraste des couleurs : rouge , vert foncé , gris-mauve . L'horizon penché est sans dout voulu .

Hello jonathan. Photographing poppy flowers is a large art. One can make much wrong. In your photo you set ideal a counterweight by the trees and the water tower on the horizon. The depth sharpness is impressing. The photo is a eyecatcher. Very beautifully. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Hi Jonathan

The reds and greens compliment each other well and them moody skies are great as well and I like the slightly out of focus look. Slight tilt, but thats easily corrected.

Mais où les trouves-tu ces champs aussi joliment colorés ? Je vis dans une région proche de la tienne et pas moyen d'y trouver un tel champ de coquelicots. Le rouge est évidemment très bon ( on n'a pas attendu mon commentaire pour s'en rendre compte) mais j'aime aussi beaucoup le POV choisi qui nous emmène en quelque sorte dans cette mer de rouge. Peut-être aurias-tu supprimer tout ce qui est dans le fond et qui, à mon avis, n'apporte rien de plus. Cela se discute évidemment et quoi qu'il en soit une très belle photo.

I find the picture on TL better that these, but you know that picture are very subjective.
The red poppies are always a very nice subject for photographers, also the cloudy sky and the watertower make this composition very well.

I just wrote a critique for one of Marianne's latest post and I have the impression that this is the same water reservoir as she got, but with a very different foreground. WOW, these poppies are magnificent and there colors really pop out with that grey background. Absolutely fantastic how who almost glued your lens on the most foreground flowers.

j'étais persuadée d'avoir mis une critique sur cette très jolie photo,et je m'aperçois aujourd'hui que non!Je m'empresse donc de réparer mon erreur!Comme tu as pu le constater sur mes photos,j'adore les couleurs,et là ,je suis servie!Ce champs de coquelicots rouges est splendide!Et puis,quel rouge magnifique,et quel beau contraste avec le vert!Je trouve que le ciel gris et nuageux fait encore plus ressortir les couleurs vives du sol!Je ne sais pas si la présence du chateau d'eau était bien utile,mais c'est le rouge qui domine,et finalement,on n'y prête pas trop attention!

Ces coquelicots à foison dans un champ c'est devenu très rare à cause de l'emploi d'herbicides sélectifs. Il faut croire que c'est une culture biologique. La photo est magnifique avec toutes ces taches rouges et le ciel nuageux fait ressortir les tons éclatants.

C'est très rare d'observer une telle profusion dce coquelicots et ta restitution est parfaite.
J'étais persuadé que Didi allait te proposer un intéressant et utile WS clonant le chateau-d'eau mais je pense que cet élément, aussi indésirable qu'il puisse paraître, est cependant nécessaire car il permet de justifier, à lui seul, l'incinaison, difficile à admettre dans le cadrage, du champ.

Very Nice photo, it is very clear, the dark sky help me even more to understand the famous poem “In Flanders Fields” from the Canadian Lieutenant Colonel John Alexander McCrae.
