Photographer’s Note
Kolkata streets always offer lot of varieties. Billboards, posters, heterogenous vehicles, people of all ages literally running to schools, colleges, markets, office, playgrounds or even theatres -- one has to see to believe and feel the vibrant life. On my way to office one morning I came across this cop amusingly standing at a busy five-point crossing of North Kolkata balancing the traffic rules perhaps. I took this shot and also one in WS when my car stopped before a red signal.

Olá Partha, I have to say that the WS is far more interesting than this one. I mean, in WS I can feel more the urban atmosphere you describe in the note - we see the big colorful buses, the buildings with its billboards and posters and the cop from the side in a straight pose ready to shout some commands. Here, the cop is in a relaxed pose (from the back, which is a pitty) and the place seems out of business...
Best regards,
