Photographer’s Note
...Spring season is unpredictable in Cappadocia : it is generally very rainy and it can even snow till early May (from the same POV, a bit more to the right : same minaret with snow).
Often after a rainy day, there are dramatic sunsets such as this one... And then some days can be so hot that we can already think that summer has come !
(... I don't know if I'll decide finally to join a tour in hot air balloon, I've got the invitation but... From some fairy chimneys, the view is also very good without having to get up very early, something that I find hard to do when not working...)
Göreme is one of the busiest centres of the tourism industry in Cappadocia and that's why this view is rather transient : I'm sure that in one month, there will have been more hotels and pensions constructed, the committee for the restoration of cultural monuments is a bit overwhelmed by the pace of the changes ! Some restorations are too heavy and/or of bad taste, very ostentatious and ridiculous in this farmers village while other small pensions remain modest in scale and respectful of the environment.

Hi Catherine
A superb high pov, overlooking this colourful sea of roofs. Good sharpness & framing. I like the orange / red minaret at left, breaking the pattern. Bon Weekend!

Branko

Hey Cath,
First of all, have a great traveling experience. Wherever you are off to. :)
Second of all, your scenery shots are obviously just as great as your portraits. A beautiful POV, lighting and generally clean and neat PP. Fine job.
Best regards.

The scenery in Cappadocia of being aglow with the setting sun is indeed beautiful. We are really impressed when coming across such scenery.
Very dramatic image!

The view is so unique, blending the houses with the typical Cappadocian rock shapes. A mosaic of shapes and tones, basking in the evening light.

Hi Catherine, wow you have shot this from an outstanding POV, you made it looks like an undiscovered or unknown place. the contrast you've captured is interesting, the soft sun light on the mountains rocks made them look smooth like a silky sheet to this town. very well done and interesting note too.
