Photographer’s Note
On the edge of the city of Lijiang is Dragon Pond. A path wanders around the lake and a few nice structures, like this one pictured, appear. It is a wooded area with high mountains (snow capped) near the steps leading to the Tibetan province. The city of Lijiang, a theme I am developing, is a replica of an old Chinese city from the late Ching Dynasty period. It is a great place to visit. Once there, many Inns welcome travelers, as small structures, very Chinese, have been turned into Inns, they offer a few rooms each. Breakfast included.

Hello David
How lucky you are to be there.

Hi David,
Wonderful and overwhelming vibrant greens .. the framing near bush adds a bunch of dimension .. about a quarter inch down form the top especially on the right (and across and diagonally down) is a line of some artifacting of some type? Beautiful color palette the overwhelming greens are well contrasted by the blues .. It really grabs me even from the thumbnail .. which is getting so important in this internet age .. I might crop off the top a bit where that brown hill is just to amplify the green some more .. very nice image.
You had asked me for some advice ...
I strongly recommend the essays of Alain Briot at
http://www.beautiful-landscape.com/
and the articles of Guy Tal at

and the wonderful writing of Ken Rockwell at:

this summer is a crazy busy time for me (we are moving here in a couple weeks) ..
so I may or may not be around all that much.
take care,
John

Hi David,
The lush green in all its different shades stands out in the shot, and I can imagine that this must be quite a peaceful place, and the structure blends well with the nature.

hello David,
I love the greenness and freshness of this shot-- with the buildings peeking through the foliage.
Good compo and original work.

Great composition and superb colors, it's just unfortunate the JPEG compression is so bad, the compression squares are visible and distract the eye.
If you'd do a repost that's not so strongly compressed, I'd be more than happy to give it top marks ;)

This is one of your featured photos for a reason David. The colours really stand out, those greens are really impressive. I like the calmness in the water, and the few people sitting on the ledge. I like the leaves in the foreground on the right side, it really makes it feel hidden.
Regards,
David
