Photographer’s Note
Maybe the coming extended weekend has something to do with me longing for Summer holidays. I went digging my archives and I stumbled upon this curious 'tourist shop' on the sands of a Djerba beach. I have shown it twice before, but more than one year has passed since I posted the second one, so I hope it won't be too boring.
Djerba is a charming little island on Southern Tunisia, maybe a little damaged (it could be worse...) by the quantity of huge package holidays resorts.
Anyone who likes beach with warm water and doesn't mind much the 'package holidays' atmosphere will have a nice time here at half the price of the Caribbean and will still be able to find less crowded spots, as the beach is huge. Besides that, the island itself and the arid area nearby has some interesting places and desert landscapes to see.
You can find additional notes on Djerba on the first of my posts the Guellala museum.
On WS: Another view of pottery.

Jose,
a very graphical effect with the bowls from the very foreground through the entire are until the last background. I just wonder about the rather curious EXIF data with the shutter speed at 1/1000s and aperture at f/4.8. Oh well, this is a shot done in 2005, that is pre-TE and that might explain a lot.

Hi Jose,
This is different one expecting coloring pots from thumbnail. Your view is wonderful while adding repeating, well decorated pots in many lines. Your workshop post is also very informative with different type of terracotta pots and jars. Congratulations.
Friendly Regards,

Hello José,
The thumbnail image attracted me immediately, then I saw your name, and the blown up image is even more interesting. This is of course from your signature series from Tunisia, and the most interesting of all of the pottery on display. The arrangement is so precise and beautiful, the question is do they lay them out daily, and take them away at the end of the day. Or is it a garden under lock and key, and the bowls can stay there. You can see the footprints of the arranger of the set.
Warm regards, good friend. Meeting in Barcelona?

ola jose,
no much commercial activity going on out there...;-))
i think that the owner of this exhibition does not earn a lot and has to feed himself with the spiritual "food"...:-))
very nice work, this photo... i think that a slight crop at the top would be interesting...
best wishes,

If memory serves me correctly a similar image to this was probably one of the first of yours I critiqued. I am really drawn to the pattern of the carefully arranged plates, and the slight diagonal of the composition works very well

MarieLouise.

Olá José,
this is a very pleasant view on pottery because of the wonderful graphical result with all the plates very accurate presented. The good light and other quality enriches this outdoor shop view. The dark frame is not mine.

Salut Jose !

ricardo
