Photographer’s Note
(This photo seems a bit improbable because it was taken at close range with 28mm : I was surprised by the result but after several attempts to correct the distortion, I've given up and decided to post it unchanged and uncropped.
Although I don't like the fact that the young man on the right looks so smaller compared to the other one, I thought that this gesture of simple friendship is very typical and not so often seen here and could be interesting).
In the main temple of Bhadrachalam on the holy banks of the Godavari, I sat for a few minutes to change my battery and the young man on the left came to sit very close to me to have a chat. Soon after, two friends of his joined us (a girl on the right) : they were from a nearby city on a tour with their college class, students in maths if I remember well. They offered me peaces of coconut which they had just broken as a "prasad" (offering) for their "puja" (prayer) to Lord Rama. Very refreshing...
(Here, other pilgrims seen there the same day).

I dont care about the distortion here Catherine, because the momento is so full of true feelings that is quite difficult to ignore it. Their faces are a pure joy. Quite a photo. Thanks.

Hi Catherine,
there is a big feeling in two men: their faces give expression to a big joy. Before reading your note, I thought that the two men were a father with its son.

hello Cath
IMO, distortion is more obvious in shots of buildings and lines, although the railings and blue columns do distort a bit here which not really matter much because your photo is basically about portrait and the two people are in the foreground to give that attention. For 28mmFL, the DOF is showing more intimate closeness than say 100mmFL, so you cannot win them all.
I like this as it is. Friendly faces. Great to see your travel photos up close.
tfs, bill

Bonjour Catherine
Les sourires sont superbes et les comeurs aussi, mais je pense que la photo aurais etait mieux si tu avais joue un peu avec le DOF en nous donant un arriere plan flou, car il est un peu distractive par rapport aux gens.
A+

Chere Catherine,
Grand merci, amicalement a toi
