Photographer’s Note

This photo was taken in "Sr. da Pedra" in Miramar beach. This is a place much visited by tourists from various countries and thus to the legend:

The Chapel of "Sr. da Pedra" (The Lord of the Stone) is situated near the sea and is based on a rock, was built in the seventeenth century, plant with a hexagonal The high altar and two side altars, and gilded Baroque-style / Rococo. It has diverse religious statuary, and to stress the image of Christ crucified. The pilgrimage to the Lord of the Stone is one of the most typical of Vila Nova de Gaia, is an ancient festival which is held annually on the beaches of Miramar, on Sunday of the Holy Trinity and that has continued until the following Tuesday.
The origin of the cult of Christ in the "Sr. da Pedra" may have originated in ancient pagan worship, a naturalist, from pre-Christian peoples, whose gods were venerated in full nature, but subsequently been converted to Christianity.
