Maligne Lake Photo

Photographer’s Note

On a clowded day I drove from Jasper to Maligne Lake to see the famous spirit island. On the way there you pass Medicine Lake. The light there was fantastic and I walk almoust two hours around an had the chance to take some great picutres. The contrast and the Reflections on the water were great there. During the summer the lake is flooded by melting glacier water and in winter the lake disappears, becoming a mudflat with scattered pools of water connected by a stream.
The water drains out through sinkholes in the bottom and in spring the circle begins again

Wonderful view. It shows that Canada is a land of great outdoors.

Although you haven't got any interesting light, you took a very good picture!!!!Exemplar frame- the way on foreground leads me into the dept of you photo.

Hello Andreas, this is how I imagine Canada looks.Wild open spaces with lakes and mountains.
This is a very beautiful scene.
I would love to walk there.

Hi Andreas,

it is surely a great place that you have presented here. I like your exposure management of the scene, the final result looks very-very natural. Your composition is also very nice, I would especially point out the mountains as natural framing and stones in the left-lower that perhaps add some extra natural heterogeneity to the scene. The calm water adds even more light, so the photo is very pleasing to view.

You may want to rename your photo to "Medicine Lake." Other than that, great work. Good job snapping a colorful photo in such drab lighting conditions. Composition is lovely as well.
