Le Mont Edith Cavell a été un haut défi de nos randonnées dans les rocheuses en 2006. Renommé en l'honneur d'une infirmière anglaise qui a fait vader des prisonniers de la grande guerre avant de se faire exécuter.
De notre point de vue, c'est un monument gigantesque impossible à grimper sans équipement d'alpinisme, mais d'une beauté à couper le souffle. Le Glacier de l'Ange borde le cirque du flanc nord, et se déverse dans un lac glaciaire gris où je peux affirmer avoir été assez fou pour m'y baigner au milieu des glaçons, avec un comparse de randonnée et sous l'oeil attentif des dizaines de caméras (mais pas la mienne, forcément ;-)

Mount Edith Cavell

The Mount Edith Cavell was a high challenge of our treks in the Rockies in 2006. Renamed after a British nurse who helped escaped POWs in WWI before she was executed.
From ou point of view, it is a gigantic monument impossible to climb without serious climbing gear experience, but a breathtaking beauty. The Angel Glacier forms in a cirque on the northern face, and melts into a grey glacial lake where I can say I was crazy enough to bathe among the floating ice, with a fellow trekker accomplice and under the watchfull eye of dozens of cameras (not my own, obviously ;-)

I congratulate you on your passion...Wonderful place, I miss to be there, and suppose that I will be there soon.
It's nice panoramic picture, with a person that shows how large are the mountains.....

Happy people into an amazing terrain! I like very much your work here, my friend. The resolution of details is very good as well as the depth of the view. I think that the weather was ideal for capturing. I can imagine how much you did enjoy this trek! Thanks for sharing.
