Fabulous scene, Jack. The landscape as such, with all the scenic value and colors contrast would already have been splendid, but to have the flock of sheep make this kind of appearance is just excellent. Your post-work effectively enhances the shadow and light setting, very impressive result.

Maybee the sheep like it, but for humans it seems somewhat rough country. The cloudy sky that casts a lot of shadow on the ground below gives an extra to the picture. The position of the sheep is very good so that the picture holds a lot of depth on the side and that way we can also see how deep the lake below is. Nice colours by the way. Thanks for sharing, good capture.

This is the first note I write since a long time out TE, and this is the perfect photo for coming back. Certainly one of the most beautyfull shots I´ve seen here, coming straight from a fairytail. Wonderfull colors, subjects are great, so as the atmosphere.

Very good photograph, technically sound and artistically impressive. The sheep seem clearly out of place, the clean white wool stands out reminding of a collage. They also look too clean and fragile for the rough landscape. Of course, I know that sheep actually like it in the mountains. :)

Meget flot billede Jack, specielt det grønne vand i baggrunden, som er helt vindstille. Jeg kan også godt lide skyerne, der kommer "susende" hen over himlen. Det kunne næsten ligne at de "støder" ind i fjeldene. Det ser rigtigt norsk ud, med fårene der græsser på de høje øde fjelde. Virkelig er billede med meget dybde i og flotte og naturlige farver. Er det en båd der kommer sejlene nede på vandet ?

i have to admit this is one of the greatest pictures i have seen here, and one of my favorites. i love the contrast between the ship in the background. the white is just so noble,

I know this has already has dozens of critiques, and is currently your top rated photo, Jack, but I like it so much that I felt I had to add my two points worth too. Brilliant composition and DOF,and lovely natural colours. Parts of the sky are a little blown out, but the perfect exposure of the sheep in the foreground compensates for that. Cheers . . . David

Hi Jack. Thanks for comments. Of course, good to see other norwegians here. We have a beautiful country to present with our photos. You have a lot of really great pictures, and I liked this one, which I can see a lot of other Trekkers did :) Really great light effects. Some of the clouds are slightly overexposed, but it doesnt matter really. Overall a great picture.

Ce qui est amusant aussi avec TE c'est que l'on découvre toujours quelque chose qui nous a échappé.
Je suis très heureuse de découvrir cette superbe photo.
Le cadrage est tout bon avec les moutons à l'avant plan et ce lac émeraude au fond.

Hi Jack,

Reading through some of the many, many critiques this photo has attracted I really don't think I can add anything new to the observations. Needless to say, when I first joined TE, this was one of the photos that most inspired me to buy a digital SLR and try to improve my photography skills. I still think it's one of the best photos I've seen on here. Totally inspiring work, Jack - the colours and atmosphere are truly magical.

I have seen the sheeps in Norway and they are very photogenic indeed. Here the result is more than one is wishing for. Seems as if you hired the sheep to pose for you.

This has to be one the best photos on TE Jack. Composition is excellent. The color is also very good. The sheep, with their ear tags that perfectly match the color of the lake, just look great. Their differing expressions, with the one running towards you looking all pissed off and the one behind him (her) with the pink nose looking surprised or scared, really add a sense of "life" to the photo. I also like the spattered shadows of the clouds throughout the photo.

Hello Jack Wonderful view, colours and clarity.
Animals must like you. Sheep usually run away when they see me, not towards me like these. Perhaps they know how good they look with their ear tags matching the colour of the lake!
