Metropolitana Cathedral Photo

Photographer’s Note

In a business trip I had last year I spent one day sightseeing Santiago. One of the most visited place in Santiago is the Plaza de Armas. Here you can see the Cathedral Metropolitana, located at this Plaza, on the heart of Santiago. Four previous churchs were built at this place, but all of them were destroyed by fire or earthquakes. The current one was begun in 1748, but was not completed until the end fo 19th century, when it towers were added.
Also, on the right is the Correo Central building (Post office).

I remember this view well and you managed a good shot.I like the sunsettones and the contrast between old and modern architecture.Great POV!

The light is fantastic here & the contrast between the two type of architecture, modern & classical has been brought out very well. Maybe a bit of perspective correction & a bit of sharpness required. Otherwise a fine post!

Gostei das cores, refletindo realmente o horário em que foi tirada! O POV também está ótimo mostrando o que é a Capital Chilena... uma mistura entre o velho e o novo, o tradicional e o moderno... uma cidade em pleno desenvolvimento, sem deixar de preservar sua história! Good shot of the cathedral in the light of the setting sun. What is really striking here is the contrast between the cathedral architecture and that of the modern buildings. The tall palm trees add a wonderful touch of exoticism. Well done

Esta imagem ficou lindíssima, com a quase silhueta da Catedral, apresentando aquela iluminação muito bonita, combinando com o céu. E o contraste dos prédios antigos com aquele moderno todo em vidro ficou muito interessante. A rua que leva ao pôr do sol deu uma profundidade impressionante.

let me tell you thing about this shot: superb! You managed the light perfectly considering the situation at the moment. There was a high light contrast between the sky and the foreground but there is no overexposure. Great warm tones and clever point of view...by the way This city is really beautiful. Well done!

Olá Ricardo,
buen encuadre asimétrico donde has jugado con el grafismo y el contraste de los estilos arquitectónicos, incluso con su distinto tamaño, para organizar una composición muy armónica y bien equilibrada.
Me gusta la gran profundidad de imagen y la bonita luz del atardecer, con unos bellos tonos en el cielo.
Bien realizada, parabens.

I really like the light management of this photo. It creates a lovely evening atmosphere, but there's still enough light to see the details of the facades. Very pleasant colours in the sky too and good composition with the tower on the right. Well done!

There is a contrast between two type of architecture old and modern. The light of the sunset is giving nice colors to the sky and some buildings. The presence of people has an effect of scale. Have a nice day.
