Photographer’s Note
Leh, Leh-Ladakh - altitude 3500 m
Namgyal Tsemo Gompa with five-colored prayer flags fluttering in the west wind, stands atop the crag behind Leh palace. A white building like UFO under the left is the Shanti Stupa.
Blue, white, red, green and yellow represent space, wind, fire, water and earth respectively.
To capture this image, I climbed the craggy mountain in the morning when sunlight hit the gompa (monastery).

This place is magic and you composed it perfectly. Everything's there : the gompa, the Shanti stupa, the prayer flags, the clouds, the pure air...
Simply great.

Namaste Hisashi,
A classical image of these prayer flags floating in the wind over the monastery, what I appreciate on your version is that you have worked out the colors very well using the special conditions of this altitude, it works best in terms of contrasts and vivid impression, also you benefitted from very pleasant and well distributed clouds to deliver a superb impression of volume.
Have a nice day jY

Hi Hisashi,
Wonderful capture again.Fantastic composition. The Polariser has done a wonderful job here.Look at the sky colour!!Ohh - lovely.Love this low angle that you have chosen here which in turn has exposed the vast blue sky to great extent. The prayer flag of contrasting colour has added to the beauty of this beautiful composition.Great work.Just love it.

Hi Hisashi,
I like prayer flags and they are always photogenic. I love the saturated colour and you have chosen a great point of view looking inbetween two rows of flags. Nice use of wide angle too.

Hello Hisashi,
I like your choice of POV, putting such strong emphasis on the prayer flags and the impressive sky. I recently posted an old picture from Lhasa using a slightly similar composition, but this one has much better colours than my scan.
Best wishes,

Hello Hisashi
Absoltely superb! The framing is fantastic & I really like how you used the rope of the prayer flags as a lead-in, which pulls us into the photograph, past the fluttering flags to the Leh Palace. Thanks to the polariser, the sky has the beautiful deep blue. Great shot!
Best Regards

Hello Hisashi,
Good work using the colors of the prayer flags in the wind. Below the deep saturated blue sky, the effect is really attractive.
good composition also allowing to see both the castle and the stuppa in the background.
I keep a nice remembering of this place where I stood for one hours looking to the flags.

Hi Hisashi,
Impressive capture! Beautiful colors here, and a beautiful sky, which reminds me of Lake Titicaca (Peru). Interesting POV and composition, but I would have liked to see the whole green flag on the right... Well done!

Hi Hisashi,
I just love to see these colourful flags coming in the picture from behind the viewer and flying high straight in the scene; a great leading line, carefully placed on a line of third. The light is good and well oriented, allowing to play with transparency with the red flag. Bold and kicking colours all around, contrasting with the earth tones.
Great shot!

Hi Hisashi
Superbe image avec des couleurs vives et gaies.
La ligne des drapeaux nous conduit naturellement vers le monastère puis plus loin vers la chaine de montagnes.
