Quito rooftops
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| I'm a rooftop addict and the Spanish colonial old town of Quito has plenty of red bisquit tile roofs to keep me happy. I was crossing a bridge in the "dangerous" part of town when I saw this corner looking down over the bridge railing. As I set up my tripod, several locals warned, "periculoso, periculoso!" I smiled and nodded and kept on clicking. A triangular corner like this, where rooftops come to a point opening up to the whole town doesn't come up too often. I used the widest (28-mm) focal length on my zoom lens, and a small f22 (maybe it was f32, I'm not sure) aperture to get the greatest front to back sharpness, focusing about 1/3 of the way into the scene. This is the result. |

I like the way the line of bricks on the rooftop travels the eye to the background.
Nice framing!

Dear Eva, I like this picture a lot because of the rare angle that you chose here. The shadow play on the front walls are very nice and add to the quality of the picture. Is it just me or is the pic a little tilted ? Anyway very nice picture :) Yours, Jan
Hello,
It's a very impressive picture, with these tiles, and the whitewashed wall in the foreground. Good POV. Pal
