Photographer’s Note
The St. Petersburg metro or underground or subway or whatever you call it is an impressive piece of engineering. As St. Petersburg is built in the Neva river delta, most of the land is marshland, and they had to dig a minimum of 60 meters deep to hit earth dry enough to construct a subway and get below seveal underground rivers. It is for this reason that you have the impression of spending more time on the escalators going down and later up, than on the trains. Because these run on time and every three minutes on every line. A fantastic way to get around the city - if you can read the signs for where you are and where you want to go. More information here.
I resized, sharpened, clarified and saturated - in that order. I was tempted to crop, but as I like that domed ceiling, I left it.

Nice crisp shot considering the poor lighting that I guess you would have been given. I would slightly crop the top off, but it's still a good pic.

This photo give great a depth, the lighting with the lanterns is the fun of this image. The plate a the right side this is fatastic of Bourjois. Nice picture Per!
