[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Mistaya River turns into a torrent here as it gets squeezed into the thin passageway of the Canyon. Mistaya I found quite unique with the combination of smooth walls from years of water flow and the visible layers of rock common to the rockies.

This wasn't an easy shot as I wanted to capture the motion of the water without overexposing it, as well as attain a proper exposure on the upper darker portions of the frame.

I hope you like the shot,
- Dan

Thats a superb capture of the meanidering vanyon and those lovely waters. I love the flow and the textures along with the colours and the way you have captured them

Hi Dan, fantastic capture which shows the force and energy of this course of water. Composition is excellent as is your exact exposure. Regards Steve.

Beautiful composition, Dan. I like the tightness on top and bottom with no waste of space. That water looks truly forceful. Regards,
Hakan

Hello Daniel. Nice to have you back from London posting good quality Canadian photos. I really love the variety of rock formations inside the frame, and the bridge above bringing scale to the frame. Its also interesting to look at eye level to see the deep rock grooves at eye level. The section below that really captures my attention. I have to say very very well done Dan.

Technically a very, very good photo. The overcast lighting I think helped you achieve a slow enough shutter speed to capture the water movement, but it is also sort of bland to look at. I remember being amazed at how much water was squeezing through these rocks. Unfortunately it is hard to convey the power of this place in a photograph. Maybe we need an audio clip to accompany the photo ;-)

I've been here Dan and getting a good exposure is challenging. You did well here. We get a sense of the depth and length of the canyon and the motion of the water.
Nicely done.
Phil

Dan,
Indeed...a diffult location to from which to emerge with anything coherent.....yet, you've done it! Showing off the amazing layered rocks, the raging torrent, and placing it all firmly within its wider setting.
Much to appreciate here.
Regards
colin
