There are many such hamlets near the Southern border of Bulgaria with Greece, which have been kept relatively isolated from contacts with the rest of the world for a 40 years period of communist rule: many such hamlets were included in a 20 kilometer border zone, which no one could enter without a permission from the Ministry of Internal Affairs - that was intended for prevention of defecting. Nowadays anyone who wants to see these places is welcome and many of the houses have been turned into guest houses. Certainly, not all houses are reachable by a car - you have to leave it in the center of the village and walk for several hundred meters or even a mile on foot.

Zdrasti Anton (I hope my Bulgarian is correct)!
A lovely and pittoresque village. I love those old houses. They have a special mood. I plan to visit Bulgaria in August. Do you know the village Bulgarovo? Closed to the town Aetos /Aitos? Take care, Leonidas

Best regards,
Kostas.

Hello Anton,
This seems to be a nice place, situated in these rural surroundings!
I notice how spring is on the way with the greenery putting on the spring coat...
Seems like they have fields for growing vegetables and potatoes around the houses, and maybe fruit and berries in the garden... Nostalgic!
Greetings,

Very beautiful photo of a simple village.
It's interesting that old story of the 20 kilometer border zone; I didn't know about it. But I could suspect it.
Mnogo Pozdravi!
