Photographer’s Note
Taken in the late morning on a good bright day. Sky was nice and blue giving a nice contrasty black and white conversion. Not quite Simon Marsden but...!

Hi Douglas,
We see this church a lot on TE for a few weeks ! Your shot is different from other we've seen from this church : a different POV and a B&W choice that creates a mysterious atmosphere. It looks like the rocks, the trees and the grass are blured, I like this a lot.
Thanks for posting

just the perfect setting for a fairy tale...the princess and her champion in his shining armors are the only missing elements here. I also like the bw treatment and the compo.

There's a lot of mood in this photo. The lichen ridden stone in the foreground adds depth and interest. Out of curiosity, what was the focal length? It looks like a nice wide angle. 12mm?

Great shot of the ruin from this perspective including the big boulder on the foreground. Shadows and lights with moody sky make great combination. Thanks for sharing...Alex

hi douglas
quite interesting. the framing is superb. it creates a spooky feeling. however, i feel that you have overdone a bit on the sky....the dark part is too deep. the shot leading up to the castle is good...
regards
