Photographer’s Note
I love Hyderabad. The Hyderabad I like is not the high tech sector, but the old part, around the Charminar. There you find the hustle bustle of daily life.
As I was walking near the Mecca Masjid mosque, I encountered a Vishnu devotee. He seemed out of place in this area, which is predominately Muslim. He had a great face and I asked to take his photo. I took it and he pointed to her, as to say "Take her photo". I looked over, and there she was. Her sweet, soulful eyes peered up at me as to say take my picture too. She adjusted her tattered scarf and looked up at me. I took two photos of her and showed her . I stayed in the area for a while looking at the people and enjoying the scene. She stayed with me gazing at me in curiosity.
Later, when I reviewed my images from that day,I noticed she was in the background of so many. She had been following me for a while, waiting for me to see her soulful sweet eyes.

A direct and simple portrait, which is very well exposed etc. i just wished there was perhaps just a hint of context, as after looking at this for a little bit, i'm finding i need more; the crop is too close i think. It is faultless other wise. Well done.

Hi Christina, what a beautiful photograph, I'm not going to comment on it any further. I've come to realize that shooting people is a true art form of which few have that talent. You are truly gifted, you're going on my favourites list! Don.

Christina, you have so many portraits here that take us beyond the gaze of the subject, an invitation to travel from our desktop at home.
Another type of DOF, I guess. thank you!

A lovely shot. Concentric, and balanced, but the subject makes the moment.

A tighly cropped portrait with the subject looking towards the camera. Prehaps even a tighter crop to remove the black sections at the top left and right corners of the subject would add more colour to an already good shot.
