Photographer’s Note

During the last climbing hours of "Mont Blanc" summit via "Dôme du Goûter" (see travelogue), one may be amazed by "Mont Maudit", (4465 meters height). Between 4 or 5 o'clock in the morning, its shape slowly sinks down, and the first rays of dawn will appear just above. In order to recall more or less these magic instants, I decreased drastically the light on this picture taken on the way back, at eight o'clock in the morning (another picture of Mont Maudit with natural light available in the travelogue).
