Photographer’s Note
This is part of the old town in Beirut - Lebanon.
The coca cola machine at the end of the ancient stoned alley is surreal on so many levels. It's the same old tale of evolution, adaptation and globalization!
Sam.

terrific nightshot with wonderful lighting. the contrast of the old building and the shiny modern
coke-vending-machine is great as well as the long view through the tunnel. well seen & captured, thor.

Good spot - the machine looks so out of place in the context. A well chosen angle and composition too. Good work!

Hello Sam,
for my soul is this ancient stoned alley. The stone my favorite material. Your Canon is in the good hands. After all, have a good Coca Cola and be happy!

Couleurs et lumière superbes et très belle perspective....qui se serait bien passée de ce distributeur de boisson qui envahit la planète.

Good night capture with 1/8 seconds although an f/8 and a 10 seconds capture could have given another effect with stronger lights.
Unfortunately, the title and note make no sense. Coca Cola Company was incorporated in 1888, i.e. before any of our grandfathers was born. Coca Cola has been around in Lebanon since the 1950s. The building you have in the picture dates back at most to the 19th century, i.e. to the time Coca Cola was born.
The Coca Cola machine is situtated at the right place there. There is nothing better on a sunny Mediterranean day than to walk in the shade of these arches and to grab a can of Coca Cola.

Hello Sam
Very good note to accompany your image, we have beautiful Architecture here in your capture and it has a modern drinks machine right up against the walls. What on earth were they thinking in putting it there. Your highlights are retaining excellent detail and the tones from the lighting really make it pleasing to the eye. Well done

Well done, Sam. The IXUS camera and you have perfectly reflected what they imagine a warm evening Lebanese.
Congratulations

Sam, this is pretty nice, it is also kind of humorous I think. This old setting, way predating photography, is seen in fine detail and sureal coloring then comes the coke machine, very well seen, captured and presented.

Bonjour Sam,
Amicalement.
Daniel.

You have just added Beirut to the VERY long list of places I want to see before I die, I love architecture, and this is just goregous! The lighting wonderful and warm, and the coke machine definatly adds character to the shot :)
