Photographer’s Note
Today I took a shot of a wooden church of St. Nicolas which stood originally in another country - Slovakia. Being in a horrible state it was sold to my town to be restored.
St. Nicholas’s Church in Jirásek’s Gardens is an interesting example of wooden vernacular architecture. Originally, the church was built in 1502 - 1510 in the Habura town near Mezilaborce in Eastern Slovakia. In 1740, it was sold to Malá Polana, where it was converted to a Greek- Catholic Church of St. Nicholas-the Wondermaker. In 1935, the church was purchased for Hradec Králové thanks to the efforts of Mayor Josef V. B. Pilnáček. It was renovated expensively and situated into Jirásek’s Gardens. The church is surrounded by the authentic fence. In the church interiors your attention will be drawn to a well-preserved iconostas, twelve arm chandelier and other items of indoor decoration.

Hello Romana
What an original wooden architecture, I've never seen such a church.
Interestng close-up to the details, and the shadows of the trees on the facade.
Soft light, and natural colors, it's well done.
Thanks for sharing this view.
Regards,
Karine

Bonsoir,

Hi Romana,
An idilic little church set in very pleasant settings.I sense it is a quiet and tranquil place that must be nice to walk through and maybe stop and rest.Lovely detail and good handling of the light....nice to meet you!

Hi Romana,
A fantastic subject to photograph. Really fascinating that this 500 years old wooden church has been moved from Habura to Hradec Králové. It quite obvious that this church dark in colour and shaded by high trees is not easy to capture. However, both your light management and perspective are really good. TFS and have a nice evening!
Cheers,
Ulf

Hello Romana, i'm glad they rescued this building. It is a very interesting architecture work.
You had difficult light to catch this image but you succed well. Personaly i would like if the bothem of the tree at the fg was not crop out. Only a little detail ;-)
Best regards
