Salut Vincent

It is a problem that nobody in the political arena of developed countries is willing to acknowledge. All they want is to ***look good*** about environmental issues. For the photo, I believe that putting the stress on the first flower was a very good idea. Well done.

Bonjour Vincent,

Hello Vincent,
There is a lot of truth in the editor's note. I do think erradicating hunmger should be a priority. Excellent composition with the plant properly in focus. The blurred background enhances the foreground subject. Colours and details are excellent. Thanks Vincent.

Hi Vincent. A very sobering note that underlies such a pretty and innocent picture. It is a travesty, this reversal of the role of agriculture, which until very recently has been mainly for the feeding of people. Now it's for feeding cars.Technically/aesthetically the tall flower against the dark sky makes it an excellent work. Regards. Klaudio.

Salut Vincent,

Hi Vincent,
Strong note, also good contrast between that yellow and blue/grey sky, works pretty good. I think you did some work in the pp because with this wide-angle at 4.0 it's hard to get such a soft background. But i like the idea and your framing a bit off center.
Regards, Henk
Hi Vincent.
A good statement with a false example. You're entirely right about corn and sugarcane. Rapeseed (that great yellow ocean)has nevr been a source of human nutricity. It is used mainly to fertilize the soil.

Salut Vincent,
just a very actual discussion well presented in a capture with a good colour composition and sharpness for just one element. This does not seem to be the final solution but I heard about something new with better results because of higher achieved amounts on energy based on the same used space.

Salut Vincent,

Hello Vincent
A subject so very important, I really appreciate your bringing it up with this community. Just in Chidambaram’s own words "We (India) are not insulated from global commodity prices. Self-sufficiency is the key to insulate ourselves from high global commodity prices". Only a country completely food self-sufficient, or rich enough to subsidise every morsel, can achieve de-link consumer food prices from international markets. In the normal & present scheme of things, beyond a point, it's impossible.
About this picture…a visual delight with the focus on the front bunch with the BG blurred & the strong colour contrast

Vincent,
a note worth to be read and some additional thinking. Excellent inclusion of India's finance minister quote and yet the whole global community, or at least the western part, lives in this predicament of comodism that energy gives, the vanishing oil ressources, the global warming, starving people, etc. Many contradictions and the right solution is far away if ever to be found.

Hello Vincent -
You make a very good point with this image and the notes. I applaud you on the effort and totally agree without. But there is one other problem to this issue that it not being addressed and that is the problem over population. We, as a world and regardless of the fuel situation, are rapidly coming to the point where farmers and ranchers can not support the demands of the population for food sources. Places such as India, China, portions of South America and Haiti are so over populated that the land can not support them and everyone lives in poverty. Well, enough about the worlds problems, excellent image.
Thank you for sharing.

Hello Vincent,
This becomes a mesmerizing image, with the one flower in sharp focus, and the others completely out of focus. The colors are most appropriate for the Swedish members.
I especially like your note. There is a huge problem in growing food and converting it into fuel. There is a huge problem is burning fossil fuels, they should be used in making the recyclable goods. The solution to the energy crisis is one that politicians do not yet understand. Controlled fusion, achievable within a generation, if we mobilize in the manner that we did in different eras for the "Manhattan Project" and the "Apollo Project." Fusion of heavy hydrogen would provide inexhaustible energy, and no deleterious bi-products (such as radioactive waste).
Warm regards,
Bulent
