Photographer’s Note
Pilatus mountain is raising steeply above Luzern and its lake Vierwaldstaetter See. Almost on the top there are two hotels and the terminus of world-famous railway from Alpnachstad. Since the railway negotiates about 1600 vertical meters it's heavily used especially if one know this is the steepest railway of its kind in the world with up to 48% gradients.
Once up, panoramas are stunning and the mountain is extensive. Here the summit of Esel (means donkey) is visible from the hike to highest point of Pilatus - Tomlishorn (2128m).
The cable cars also come from the other side, so it is heavily populated area hence its simple but pricey access. Those giant ventilators in the middle of the slope, buildings of steel and concrete and other man made uglies are main drawbacks and a sign of too extensive human influence.

Hi Mitja,
a very good note for explanation and a pic from which we can learn much..normally everyone is trying to hide concrete in the mountains when photographing, but you were brave :)
Cheers Christian
