The Yeni Mosque, New Mosque or Mosque of the Valide Sultan (Turkish: 'Yeni Cami, Valide Sultan Camii') (1597 - 1663) is an Ottoman mosque located in the Eminönü district of Istanbul, Turkey.

There are a lot of people that pass by this mosque daily and there are even more pigeons that hang around the building waiting for people to buy birdseed from the four sellers in front of the mosque. Be careful where you sit down and don’t look up if they’re in flight! :o)

Hi Elizabeth - a good capture of modern daily life in Turkey - I think the reason this works nicely is the addition of all the birds flying around. Well captured on spur of the moment!

Hello Elizabeth,
Nice daily life shot, I like the many pigeons you have captured, they can be a problem especially when they leave their mark behind.I also like the men walking around with arm around the other. All in all a nice image with good colour and clarity.

I'm not sure I would feel ok walking under so many pigeons, specially after all the food from tourists they eat ;-) Nice and interesting shot with so many dynamics. The pigeons flying, the people walking and the good light make for a nice composition. Thanks Liz.
