The picture is taken on Fedje Island in Hordaland, Norway. As you can see, the sun is shining at one side of the lighthouse, which is called Hellisøy fyr.
The lighthouse was established in 1855. It's 32,3 metres high, and it was used in the norwegian movie "SOS Svartskjær" as Svartskjær. The movie had a great sucsess in Norway in the beginning of 2008. In 1992, the lighthouse became automatic. It has been preserved since 2000.
In January 2007, the ship "Server" sank there. That made an huge oil emission. In the summer it's possible to stay overnight. |

Fredrik,
Welcome to TE! This is a great shot of the Hellisøy Fyr. Your composition is great including the buildings to one side providing balance to the lighthouse. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. I traveled to Norway two years ago on a cruise and remember seeing this lighthouse as well sailed out of Bergen. I actually have a photo of it in my gallery Hellisøy fyr.
This area of Norway was one of my favorite destinations from all of my travels.
TFS,
Asa
Hello Fredrik,
This is a pleasant composition with the lighthouse!
Good details in the rugged landscape, and the colours are well reproduced...
Greetings,
