[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Na sua grandiosidade e beleza arquitectónica, o Mosteiro dos Jerónimos foi idealizado para simbolizar e perpetuar a memória do que constituiu talvez a maior realização portuguesa de todos os tempos. A importância dada a este projecto, justificava que o mesmo ficasse, de várias formas, condignamente assinalado.

Assim "nasceu" o Mosteiro dos Jerónimos e a dignidade que se pretendeu atribuir-lhe. Assim se justifica também, que hoje em dia tudo seja feito e se reunam os esforços necessários para preservar a sua conservação.

A recuperação dos claustros "foi um trabalho de ourivesaria, realizado centímetro a centímetro por uma equipa multidisciplinar, que teve a ousadia de mexer naquelas pedras para evitar a sua degradação".

Aproveitem para visitar o monumento, ao domingo é de entrada livre até às 14h.

In its great and very beauty, the Monastery of the Jerónimos was idealized to symbolize and to perpetuate the memory of that it perhaps constituted the biggest Portuguese accomplishment of all the times. Curiosamente, também acabei de publicar uma foto dos Jerónimos. A minha é sobre o tecto da igreja, que é uma verdadeira peça de engenharia e beleza.
Gosto da tua foto e nela se pode ver claramente o trabalho de restauro feito nos cláustros. Deviam fazer o mesmo na maiori dos monumentos que estão, alguns deles, em estado lastimável.
