This was taken in almost the same spot, and just a few minutes before I took this one near Sharow, not far from Ripon in North Yorkshire. However this shot was taken facing in the opposite direction and you can see just how different the sky was. Post processing has been limited to just a slight increase of brightness as the shot was a bit dark looking into the dark clouds to the south. The strange light on the trees is just how it was.

Hey Leon,

very beautiful, calm, relaxing, intensive photo... Great colours and lovely composition, well done!

Regards,
Mateja

Fabulous colours Leon - the dark blues of the clouds and sky create a wonderful contrast to the golden field. The light on the trees has illuminated them perfectly. And I like the bits of foreground interest too.

Best regards, Roberto

Hi Leon,
Though the previous snap contains more variations in the sky, the dark cloud here creates a nice contrast with the yellow straw in the ground. Nice clean image.

Avishek

Hi Leon,
You got nice light and colors despite a somehow unfriendly weather... I like the filed texture and the graphical lines on the dried and already harvested cereals...

Hello Leon,
An excellent summer landscape with a great atmosphere. The whole has scene has a good depth and a great feeling of harmony. Superb clarity.

Leon,
This is a beautiful scene. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF. Your composition is fine including the plants in the foreground with the golden field leading the eye to the dark sky in the back.

Hi Leon,
a very eye catching shhot thanks to the beautiful contrast between the cloudy grey sky and the golden field..it also add a beautiful sense of depth and a great mood with the peace and silence sorrounding the trees in the bg. Good job!!
Thanks for sharing it.
Cheers,

Igor

The diagonal lines from the cut crops lead the eye nicely into the frame. I love the sky; so typical. The light on the trees gives them a 3D effect and makes them stand out against the dark sky. Good work

Hi Leon.

Lovely, moody shot. We get a lot of days like this in the UK and you've really made the most of this one. I love the colours and the brightness against the blue / black sky.

Great work. Paul.

hello Leon,
gold and blue; the colour of Egyptian jewellery and summer fields. Can't be beaten.I like the way the edge of the fiels is delineated by trees and the dark line beyond.

Hi Leon,
I am very fond of these views of vast plains with trees on the distance and scenic skies and I find this one very achieved. The grass on the FG, the lines on the field and the amazing light that makes the trees on the right stand out, while the one on the left is so dark, makes the image very special.
I am amazed how it resembles so much of my home region. I am posting a WS to show that.
Regards, José.
